Bali Visa FAQs
Common questions about visiting, staying and living in Bali. If your question is not answered here, message us on WhatsApp and we will help.
Do I need a visa to visit Bali?
Most visitors need either a Visa on Arrival or the electronic version, the e-VOA. A small number of nationalities have other arrangements, so check your passport country before you travel.
What is the difference between the VOA and e-VOA?
The VOA is bought at the airport on arrival. The e-VOA is applied for and paid online before you fly, which lets you skip the payment queue. Both give 30 days and can be extended once.
How long can I stay in Bali on a tourist visa?
A VOA or e-VOA gives 30 days and can be extended one time for another 30 days, so 60 days in total. For longer stays you would use a B211 visa or a KITAS.
Can I extend my Bali visa?
Yes. As of 2026 the extension is done in person and includes a biometric step. We can lodge and manage the whole process for you so you avoid the queues.
What is the Bali tourist tax?
Every foreign visitor pays a levy of 150,000 rupiah, about 9 to 10 US dollars, once per visit. You can pay it online before you travel or on arrival.
Do I need to complete the arrival card?
Yes. All travellers must file the digital All Indonesia arrival card before landing, up to three days before arrival. It is free and separate from your visa.
Which visa do I need to work remotely from Bali?
The E33G remote worker KITAS is designed for digital nomads earning from outside Indonesia. It is valid for up to one year and has an income requirement.
How can I stay in Bali long term?
Options include the B211 visa, the various KITAS categories, the retirement KITAS, the investor route and the Second Home Visa, which offers up to 10 years. We can match the right one to your situation.
Can you handle my visa application for me?
Yes. We manage applications, extensions and long stay permits from start to finish, check your documents before submission and keep you updated at each step. Contact us on WhatsApp to get started.
